About Us

All of our products are made with natural ingredients in small batches. Are free from chemicals and dyes and with vegan friendly ranges.

Our Story

I have been learning about and using herbs for - well - a long time. My nan got me my first book on herbs when I was about 10 and the interest kept on growing from there.

I started by making sugar and salt scrubs when my sister and I began having allergic reactions to the soaps we were using (I was about 13). Even the soaps marketed for sensitive skin would cause itching and burns. It turns out we’re allergic to Aloe Vera; one of the most widely used ingredient for sensitive skin.

The Herb Cupboard was initially founded in 2022 as a Blog for all things herb related; and as a safe, inclusive environment to share information and my love for homemade products.

However, we found that there were so many others struggling to use products; just like we do, so I decided to officially make my recipes as available products for everyone.

I designed all of my recipes to be as kind to all types of skin as possible, while choosing ingredients that are known to protect and soothe. My aim is to reduce the risks of allergies as much as possible, or offer alternatives, so everyone can feel pampered and beautiful no matter their skin type.

Our Products

All of our products are homemade in small batches to guarantee good quality.

All of our products are free from chemicals, dyes, unnecessary preservatives and chemicals including Parabens and Sulfates.

All of the fragrances included are from whole essential oils, rather than synthetic additives.

They are also made with predominantly plant based ingredients; so most of our products are vegan friendly.

Some of our ranges are inspired by classic and ancient beauty practices. Therefore, some ranges may include animal products, such as milk or honey (Not Tallow!)

Our Core Beliefs

We believe that the impact on the environment is extremely important.

We strive to ensure that all of our packaging and ingredients are responsibly sourced and sustainable.

We follow guidance from the World Wildlife Foundation (WWF), RSPO and FRAME when developing all our policies and practices, including the types of ingredients we use.

All of our suppliers are located in the UK and Ireland, and are like-minded people who value sustainability and waste free.

We do not condone animal testing. However it is understandable that our products needed to be tested as part of the development process. So all products have been tried and tested on ourselves! What better way to see how our products work than by using them.

To the people who willingly took part in trialling all of our blends, recipes, potions and lotions; I sincerely thank you. Having a pot of blended essential oils shoved under your nose is not always pleasant; but you persevered when my own nose had gone numb, and I’ll never forget your dedication.
